Rehoboth Beach was incorporated in 1873 to create a seaside resort. By 1878, a railroad was extended to bring even more visitors and businesses to the town. Today, Rehoboth Beach claims the title of being America's Summer Capital, its boardwalk has become synonymous with summer fun.
Despite the growth of recent years, Rehoboth has managed to maintain its friendly, historic charm. The residential areas are an eclectic mix of both modern and historic homes, that capture the past and present of the quaint beach town.
Boasting a mile-long boardwalk that is home to iconic landmarks including Funland, Gus & Gus and more, Rehoboth has something for everyone coming to visit. Highlights for visitors include the beach, of course, but also the many eateries, attractions, and events on Rehoboth Avenue and in the surrounding area.
Just a short distance from the southern entrance to the Gordon's Pond Trail in Cape Henlopen State Park, vacationers can escape the hustle and bustle of downtown to experience the quiet, natural side of Southern Delaware, too!
